is there really no simple way to mass import #wikipedia articles (complete) into #Obsidian?
the Media DB plugin just sticks an iFrame in there, and other plugins just grab the first paragraph. Is it so much more complex than some regex from mediawiki markdown to obsidian markdown?
Could probably do it with a script.
Something like the a markdown importer that does some regex, and if you always pull them into certain folder(s), you can even support saving interwiki linking, and even have it pulled down new articles if you click an article, it hasn't copied yet...
It sounds simple. Is there just not a request for this kind of tool?
@Crazypedia There's a template for the Obsidian web clipper that pulls them in very nicely. It only pulls one URL at the time, but it gets the whole article. Why don't you just download Wikipedia though. You can do that easily. https://appaddict.app/post/use-kiwix-to-access-wikipedia-and-other-resources-offline
@amerpie because I want them as references in the notes I'm working on
@Crazypedia I read lately about something, but didn't test it.
